So after I ended the last blog I didn't want to trivialize my reflections by then talking about how amazing and beautiful South Africa is, so that is what I am doing in this post. Hooray for photos! Table Mountain really was amazing, I have definitely never felt so small or stood in such awe of nature. Truly nature's gift to all human kind. Seeing the clouds roll in the far side of the mountain was incredible. They looked like waves crashing upon the shore, but at the same time it also appeared that time were almost standing still since the clouds flowed over the mountain and down into the valley with a slow determination that allowed onlookers to take in and appreciate every inch of the scene. It really wasn't that tough of a hike believe it or not since the group I was in kept taking so many breaks, but it was really hot so I'll forgive them, just kidding of course. I did enjoy taking the multiple breaks since it allowed me to take some amazing photos and to soak it all in. By the end of the journey from land to sky I had developed a greater appreciation for nature and a fair bit of jealousy towards South Africa for having such a beautiful wonder of nature that makes the hills in Bowling Green, Ohio appear to be mere grains of sand in comparison. After hiking to the top we took the cable car down to the bottom since we were too hungry to spend another hour or more hiking down. We took a taxi down to the water front and do some relaxing. This weekend we revisited the water front and got the chance to watch a beautiful sunset. I can't wait to visit Robben Island and get the chance to see Table Mountain and Cape Town from a very different perspective and wonder what it must have been like to be imprisoned there, so close to such a natural wonder and the freedom it brings to stand upon it and yet be locked up as a prisoner in the middle of the ocean unsure of what the future holds.
